Osteoarthritis Strength
&
Mobility Class

Osteoarthritis is a common, age-related change in our joints, a natural part of getting older.
However, factors like genetics, lifestyle and the type of work you’ve done over the years can play a big role in how it affects you.

Our Osteoarthritis Class is based on a highly regarded research program developed in Auckland, New Zealand, which explored the benefits of strength, balance, endurance and functional training.
The research showed that attending a structured class for just one hour, twice per week can lead to:
-
Reduced joint-related pain
-
Up to 40% reduction in fall risk
-
Improved mobility and confidence
-
Reduced disability associated with joint arthritis

Our sessions focus on strength, speed and functional movement, using a two-minute circuit format that keeps you moving with purpose. We don’t use long static stretching in this class, as research indicates it doesn’t contribute to fall prevention or functional improvement, instead, we prioritise exercises that support real-life movement and everyday independence.

Every class is fully supervised by degree-qualified Physiotherapists and Accredited Exercise Physiologist, ensuring safe, tailored guidance to suit your individual needs.

Participants in this class range from 50 through to 94 years old, so whether you’re newly navigating osteoarthritis or looking to maintain independence long-term, you’ll be in great company.
