This free community Tai Chi class has become a much-loved part of the Clarence Valley, and we are committed to continuing to grow and support it.
Balla, one of our senior physiotherapists has been leading the class for many years and has built a wonderful group of regular participants, but newcomers are always encouraged and warmly welcomed.
At Grafton Physio + Sport, we are passionate about offering movement options that are inclusive, enjoyable, and supportive of all ages and abilities. This class is about moving your body in a way that feels good without pressure or intensity and connecting with others in a positive, relaxed environment.
What is Tai Chi?
Tai Chi originates from ancient Chinese martial arts, but today it is best known as a gentle and flowing form of exercise. Movements are slow, continuous, and mindful, making Tai Chi:
-
Low-impact
-
Easy on joints and muscles
-
Safe for nearly all ages and fitness levels
-
A welcoming entry point for those who may not usually exercise
This makes it particularly helpful for people managing Osteoarthritis, chronic pain, balance concerns, or anyone simply wishing to move more without strain.

Benefits of Tai Chi
Research shows that Tai Chi can help to:
-
Improve balance & reduce fall risk
-
Increase strength and flexibility
-
Support posture and coordination
-
Reduce stress and anxiety
-

-
Support joint health and mobility
It is a gentle practice that nurtures both physical and mental wellbeing.
